AUTHORS & OTHER GUESTS

Kerrie Droban began her writing career in poetry--attended Johns Hopkins University Writing Seminars, and wrote and taught poetry for three years before turning to novels. Several excerpts from her book of poetry entitled, The Language of Butchers, have been published in literary journals like The Antioch Review, Arizona Attorney, New Letters, The Mississippi Valley Review, and Poet Lore.  Some of those poems placed first in The National Academy of Poets competition, others received Honorable Mention in the New Letters International Poetry Contest.  Her second novel, The Watchman's Circle, released in 2002, placed second in the Daphne Du Maurier Mystery Writer's  Competition.  " The move was interesting because my poems started to take on a life of their own--moving from short vignettes to narratives to prose.  It was almost a natural progression into novels," she explains.  Now Kerrie writes suspense thrillers, like In The Company Of Darkness, to the great delight of readers and reviewers.  In her spare time, she is a criminal defense attorney representing indigent clients on death row.
